Frequently Asked Questions
Which direction am I facing — compass online?
The online compass reads your device's built-in magnetometer and gyroscope in real time. Open the compass tool, tap "Enable Sensors", hold your phone flat, and the heading display shows your current facing direction in degrees (0–360°) along with a cardinal label such as N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, or NW.
Online compass — where is North?
North is marked by the red needle and the red "N" on the compass rose. When the compass is active, the red arrow always points toward magnetic north. Enable GPS and tap "Get GPS Location" to switch to True North with automatic declination correction.
What direction am I facing — compass online?
After granting sensor permission, the large degree number at the top of the compass (e.g. 045° NE) is your exact facing direction. Rotate your body until the number matches your target bearing or the needle lines up with the cardinal direction you need.
How to know direction without a compass online?
Without any tool: the sun rises in the East and sets in the West; at noon in the Northern Hemisphere it sits due South. The North Star (Polaris) marks true north at night. A stick shadow tip traces east at sunrise and west at sunset. For a reliable digital method, the online compass at onlinecompasspro.com works entirely in your browser using device sensors — no physical compass needed.
How to use a compass online?
Step 1 — Open the compass page on a smartphone or tablet. Step 2 — Tap "Enable Sensors" and grant the motion-sensor permission when prompted. Step 3 — Hold your device flat with the screen facing up. Step 4 — The rotating needle points to North; the degree readout and cardinal label show the direction you are currently facing. Optionally, tap "Get GPS Location" to apply magnetic declination for True North accuracy.
